I just purchased a lead list. Any advice on how to execute an effective marketing campaign?

Use your list as a prospecting tool. Plan out campaigns with multiple content touches on each contact. A multi-channel approach is suggested for maximum reach to your list. Not everyone buys when they receive the first email you send them. You’ll need to build trust and provide value over time before you can expect to see sales come in. Please call to speak with an Account Executive regarding best practices as well as any questions you may have regarding your upcoming campaign.

How do I select a targeted lead list?

Carefully consider your audience. Look at the type of business or individual you want to attract based on your current customers. Do you need to target higher revenues or income levels to achieve your sales goals? Or do you need to contact a COO or a CMO instead of the CEO or owner? Also, consider the type of product or service that you offer.

As an example, if you sell life insurance, not everyone has the disposable income to afford the specific policy that you offer. If you target individuals 35 and older, who have a family and an income above $50k, the probability of them purchasing the policy increases significantly.

When should I purchase my list?

We recommend acquiring your dataset when you’re 1-2 weeks away from launching your marketing campaigns/activities.


Can I use MailChimp, Constant Contact or a Similar Application to Deploy Email Campaigns with your email lists?

Clients purchase our lists to prospect for new customers. It’s referred to as an “acquisition campaign.” Constant Contact, MailChimp and similar applications only permit retention mailings. It is not advised to use retention platforms like Mailchimp and Constant Contact. 

Do you have business and consumer emails?

Yes, we have a comprehensive list of business and consumer emails, with hundreds of filters, that makes it easy for you to choose a highly targeted email leads list.

I just purchased an email list. Any advice?

Make sure that your offer and call to action are clear. If the recipient can’t find what you have to offer within a few seconds, you’ll lose your opportunity to grab their attention. Also, keep in mind that sending multiple emails over time to your list of prospects will increase your chances of making a sale.

Is there a minimum order size?

Our online minimum order for postal lists starts at $90 and a list with both email and postal addresses starts at $180 minimum. This is all dependent on the quantity, and how you build your lists.

Do I have to subscribe or pay a monthly fee to use your service?

No, we don’t charge a subscription or monthly fee using our Data Widget. You only pay for the data and services that you need. If you are looking for a subscription product, please call or chat with an Account Executive. 

What is a NAICS Code?

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is used to classify business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing important statistical data related to the economy.

What is a SIC Code?

A Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is a four-digit number assigned to each business by the U.S. government to classify their given industry.

How much does a list cost?

The cost varies depending on the type of list, fields included in the output, and quantity. Our online tool automatically discounts lists when higher quantities are ordered.

How do you compile your databases?

We have licensed over 2,000 sources to build and enhance our business and consumer databases. Sources include surveys, magazine subscriptions, purchase histories, government records, licensing boards, municipal directories, memberships, attendee registries, website registrations, DBAs, incorporations, and more.

How accurate is your data?

Very accurate. We have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and we understand the importance of providing our customers with the most accurate information possible. Our email, postal, and phone contact lists go through a rigorous update and hygiene process (National Change of Address and CASS Certification) every 30 days.

What is Your Policy if I’m not Satisfied with my Purchase?

We believe our business and consumer databases contain the best possible information. But we recognize that no database can be perfect. It’s common to receive a small percent of records that may require a review and that’s why we offer 100% satisfaction guarantee. You’ll receive a full credit for any portion of the list that exceeds 10% of undeliverable records as long as these are raised within 30 days from the purchase order date.

Can I download my order more than once?

Yes, the file will be hosted on the site and can be downloaded multiple times. Usage of the sales leads will be dependent on whether you purchase a single or multiple use list. 

How do I download my order?

To download your file, please follow the instructions below

1.     Click here or go to to visit our website.

2.     Click the Log In icon in the top, right of the page.

3.     Your Email and Password login will initially be your email address for both.

4.     Once signed in, you will be automatically prompted to change your password. Please remember your personalized password, it will grant access to all orders moving forward.

5.     Once logged in with your new password, you will see your Order Summary and Download Page. On this page you will have access to all your creative tests, files to download, and campaign analytics for all open orders. When I upload any of your materials to your Order Summary and Download Page, you will receive an automatic notification that your download is ready.

(If you are a returning customer, you may disregard these instructions and use your existing login and password.)

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, Discover, Mastercard, and American Express. When working directly with an Exact Data account executive, there are other options which include but are not limited to a wire transfer or PayPal.

How do I cancel my order?

To cancel your order, please contact your Exact Data representative or call 877.440.3282. (Please note, once a list or services are being delivered, an order cannot be cancelled.)

In what format will my list be delivered?

Your list will be delivered electronically in .csv file format.

How do I access my list?

You’ll receive an email with a link to our customer portal about 15 minutes after your order is completed. All lists are downloaded from our customer portal.

How quickly will I receive my list?

Generally, you’ll receive an email with a link to our customer portal within a few hours. If your order contains sensitive elements, like mortgage or age restrictions, it may be delayed until you produce marketing materials for our approval.  (Please note, if placing an order after business hours please allow until next business day for processing.)

How long can I use my list?

Lists are purchased for multi-use, unless list is controlled for one time use. In that case the Account Executive will be working with you on the difference. Usage for the list is for 1 year. After the year usage is past, we recommend updating your list to receive newly hygiened contacts.
